A devout follower of the Holy Order, Elena was instilled from an early age with a fanatical belief that absolute devotion to God could only be proved through suffering and self-sacrifice. The Ascetic Church reveals pain as the highest expression of love, and believers show their devotion to God by enduring physical and mental torture, believing that in this way they can become God's lovers.
Her leadership led to the expansion of the church's influence, but after endless practice, doubts began to grow in her heart: Does the God she believes in really exist? Can the end of this painful path really be reunited with the love in my heart? These questions were unspoken, but they could not be suppressed. Still, Yelena insisted that it was all she had in life.
